Information
Baptism

“Holy Baptism is the basis of the whole Christian life, the gateway to life in the Spirit and the door that gives access to the other sacraments. Through Baptism we are freed from sin and reborn as sons of God; we become members of Christ, are incorporated into the Church and made sharers in her mission: "Baptism is the sacrament of regeneration through water in the word." (CCC 1213)” Preparation for the baptism of children includes a meeting with one of the priests and a class to explain the sacrament and the ceremony itself. Please contact the parish office to begin the process and for any questions about godparents, scheduling, etc. The baptism of adults takes place as part of the annual Easter celebrations. Preparation for adults is a class series known as the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA) and begins each fall and continues through Easter. Please contact the parish office for details.
* If the child to be baptized is new born through 5 years old please contact the Rectory Office at ( 501) 623-6201 to make an appointment with Father Erik Pohlmeier.
* If you are in First grade through Twelfth grade and have never been baptized there are 3 extra classes you must attend before you can be baptized. These classes are held in the evening, usually on Monday after January First. You must attend your Regular Religious Education Classes on Sunday ( 11:30 a.m. - 12:30 a.m. in the Hall) or be attending St. John's School, during the year. Baptism will be done at the Easter Vigil.
* If you are an adult please contact RCIA with Carolyn Wethington
